We have qualified for the British Cocker Championships consecutively for the past 5 years.
Dog trainer Nigel Partiss wins gold as his dog Field Trial Champion Brookfurlong of Tiptopjack ‘Midge’ becomes ‘British Champion’ having proved herself to be the best working Cocker Spaniel in Britain.
To qualify the Kennel Club select the best dogs that have won trials throughout the UK to participate in this prestigious final.

In 2012 we qualified four dogs to take part amongst the final thirty eight dogs in the Championships. All dogs achieved Awards presented by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.
The Sandringham Game Keepers also selected one of our dogs for the prestigious ‘Gun’s Choice’ Award. Midge – the oldest dog in the Championship at 7 years old claimed her title as ‘Champion’ and best ‘hunting Cocker’ in the country, after putting her skills consistently against 40 of the UK’s best Cocker Spaniels.

This year the British Championships provided a tough 3 days of competition at the home of the Queen’s Cousin – The Duke of Buccleuch, at his Queensberry Estate, Dumfries and Galloway. Midge is one of the most prolifically successful Cocker Spaniels ever, with a list of accolades to her name.
Before becoming British Champion, she had consecutively won her place at the Championships every year for 6 years, coming away with many Awards, including last year being presented HRH Queen Elizabeth at Sandringham with the prestigious ‘Gun’s Choice Award’ in the 2012/13 Championships.
Amongst Nigel’s Stud Dogs are the Sire (Field Trial Winner Dougall) and Son (Field Trial Champion Jack) of Midge. Jack’s father was ‘Field Trial Champion Danderw Druid’ who won the British Championship in 2006 – making Jack an exceptional Stud Dog with both parents being ‘British Champions’.
In 2011, Field Trial Champion Winhocklin Single Star of Tip Top Jack came third in the British Championships.
We have now made up four Field Trial Champions and three Field Trial Winners. We have also bred out of our own bitches Field Trial Champions, We have sent dogs to the front line in Afghanistan and Northern Ireland for HM Forces and the Police Force.

She became a field trial champion in only two field trial competitions a first for any Cocker.
Nigel provides both obedience training and gun dog training and sometimes has puppies and part trained dogs available.
Over the past 20 years I have been producing outstanding dogs puppies for all purposes from family dogs to working shooting and trialling dogs I have also supplied the military and the police with bomb and drug detection talks.
Before and during the Afghanistan war the Army veterinary Corps approach me if I could help them train and supply detection dogs for them.
Over a three-year period I supplied the military with some outstanding talks that passed all the rigorous tests and training and passed out one particular dog stood out her name was Grace She excelled herself and she was chosen to accept the PDSA Dickens medal on behalf of Theo the army search section dog.
The PDSA Dickens Metal is the equivalent to our Victoria Cross for serving animals.
A very proud moment for me.
